Help Install & setup Keep it running

Keep FaceReady running while you're on a call (Windows)

FaceReady has to keep running for its camera to work. If you fully close it, the FaceReady camera goes with it and your video app drops back to a plain webcam mid-call. So the rule is simple: minimise it, don't close it.

Minimise, don't quit

Click the minimise button (the – at the top-right of the window) to tuck FaceReady onto the taskbar. It keeps running in the background and the camera keeps working — you just won't have the window in your way. When you want the sliders again, click it on the taskbar to bring it back.

The short version: minimise FaceReady, don't quit it, while you're on a call. If your video app suddenly shows your raw webcam, FaceReady probably got closed — reopen it and it comes back.

When you're done for the day

Once your calls are over you can close FaceReady properly. Next time, open it again before you join the call so the camera's ready.
