Minimum system requirements
FaceReady runs entirely on your own machine — nothing is uploaded — so it needs a reasonably recent computer to do the work in real time. Here's what you need.
Mac
| macOS | macOS 14 Sonoma or later |
|---|---|
| Chip | Apple Silicon — M1 or newer. Intel Macs aren't supported. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| Camera | Built-in or any USB webcam |
Windows
| Windows | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit |
|---|---|
| Chip | Intel/AMD (x64) or ARM (Snapdragon and other ARM laptops) — FaceReady ships a native build for each |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| Camera | Built-in or any USB webcam |
| Graphics | Any modern GPU or NPU helps the frame rate, but isn't required |
Video quality
FaceReady outputs at 720p by default and 1080p when you turn on HD. There's no 4K option — see about resolution for why 1080p is the sweet spot for video calls.
Not sure if your Mac is Apple Silicon? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If the Chip line says M1, M2, M3 or M4, you're good.
On an older machine? Email our contact form — tell us your setup and we'll let you know honestly whether FaceReady will run well.
