Film your own FaceReady before/after — a 20-minute brief

The clips that convert best aren’t ours — they’re yours. Your face, your webcam, your voice. This brief gets you from nothing to a postable clip in about twenty minutes, and you only need the free trial to do it.

The one idea that matters

FaceReady works live, inside a real call. That’s the whole point, and it’s the thing a static image can’t prove. So don’t film the app window — film a call. Zoom, Teams, Meet, whatever you actually use. The moment that sells is the toggle: you, mid-sentence, and then you again, a few years back.

Setup (5 minutes)

Face a window or a lamp — light in front of you, never behind. Camera at eye level (put the laptop on some books if you have to). Then install FaceReady from faceready.ai and pick a look you’d actually use on a client call. Push the sliders until it looks like you on a good day, not someone else. If a colleague would say “you look well”, it’s right. If they’d say “what have you done?”, back it off.

One honest warning: the trial puts a small watermark on the feed. Leave it in — it reads as proof you’re showing the real product, and you can mention that subscribing removes it.

The shot (10 minutes)

  1. Start a call with yourself (a second device, or just a meeting with one participant) and screen-record it. Record the call window, not the FaceReady app.
  2. Talk naturally for the whole take — describe your morning, read your to-do list, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you’re clearly live, not a photo.
  3. About five seconds in, switch your camera to FaceReady (or toggle the effect). Don’t announce it with a drumroll — just do it, then react honestly. The double-take is the content.
  4. Toggle it off and on once more near the end so nobody thinks it’s an edit.
  5. Keep the whole thing under 45 seconds. You’ll trim to 15–30.

What to say (and not say)

Say what you actually notice: “the bags under my eyes are gone”, “my grey’s covered”, “it still looks like me”. Specifics beat superlatives every time.

Please don’t call it a beauty filter — it isn’t one, and that framing attracts the wrong audience. It’s a de-ager that runs live in your calls. And don’t make claims we can’t back: it doesn’t “make you look 25”, it takes a few years of camera-harshness off. The believable version sells better anyway.

Privacy is a fair point to make if it fits your audience: everything runs on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded, ever.

Disclosure — not optional

You must make the relationship clear: “#ad” or “paid partnership — I earn a commission” in the caption, and platform disclosure toggles (like TikTok’s branded-content switch) turned on where they exist. It protects you, us, and honestly it barely dents conversion.

Post it

Vertical (9:16) for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; the same footage reframed 16:9 works for LinkedIn and YouTube. Put your tracked link in the first line of the caption or your bio — wherever your platform actually lets people tap it. Swipe captions you can adapt are in the companion doc.
